Dave Matthews and Friends is the touring super-group formed to support <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Dave+Matthews" class="bbcode_artist">Dave Matthews</a>'s 2003 solo release <a target='_blank' title="Dave Matthews - Some Devil" href="http://www.last.fm/music/Dave+Matthews/Some+Devil" class="bbcode_album">Some Devil</a>. The band includes Dave Matthews (vocals and acoustic and electric guitars), <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Tim+Reynolds" class="bbcode_artist">Tim Reynolds</a> (electric and acoustic guitars; long-time Dave Matthews collaborator), <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Trey+Anastasio" class="bbcode_artist">Trey Anastasio</a> (electric guitar; of <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Phish" class="bbcode_artist">Phish</a>), Ray Paczkowski (keyboards; of <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Trey+Anastasio+Band" class="bbcode_artist">Trey Anastasio Band</a>), <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Tony+Hall" class="bbcode_artist">Tony Hall</a> (bass; member of <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Emmylou+Harris" class="bbcode_artist">Emmylou Harris</a>'s band), and Brady Blade (drums; member of <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Emmylou+Harris" class="bbcode_artist">Emmylou Harris</a>'s band). Although the whole band, except Ray, appears on Some Devil, the &quot;Dave Matthews &amp; Friends&quot; moniker is only given to the band's live incarnation. The band played a short tour in the late fall of 2003, primarily in the Northeast, followed by an even shorter Pacific tour in January 2004. They have played a handful of shows since and have appeared on late-night television several times. Generally, <a target='_blank' href="http://www.last.fm/music/Dave%2BMatthews%2B%2526%2BTim%2BReynolds" class="bbcode_artist">Dave Matthews &amp; Tim Reynolds</a> open the show with a short acoustic set, followed by a longer full-band set. Over the course of the tour, Dave and Trey began doing an acoustic mini-set to start the encores, and the rest of the band comes out for another song or two. The setlists consist mostly of songs from Some Devil and cover songs. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License and may also be available under the GNU FDL.
