Vib Gyor have just finished recording their debut album. Having released their second single on the 19th March. The Secret, taken from their EP, which was recorded by Paul Corkett (Muse, Radiohead, The Cure....) in his Studios in Bath. It is currently still receiving playlist airplay in the UK (BBC6 Music, XFM Single of the Week & Virgin Extreme). In the USA the band were recently tipped as 'most likely to succeed in 2007' by Britsound and the single caused a stir with plays on Indie 103, KRNK and WEQX. As a result of this, they have just returned from a 4 week tour of the West Coast, selling out key venues in LA, San Francisco, Seattle and San Deigo, to name a few. Their debut single "Fallen" was released July 17th 2006. Produced by Mike Cave at Liverpool's Parr Street Studios, its currently still receiving airplay on both sides of the Atlantic. There was a phenomenal response stateside, including regular airplay on KROQ (Jed the Fish-Catch of the Day!), KNRK, WEQX, Indie 103 and an interview and acoustic session on San Diego station 91Xs The Big Break, a slot usually reserved for US talent. In the UK, Fallen received regional & national airplay including Zane Lowe at Radio 1, Phil Jupitus and Tom Robinson at BBC6 music & XFM; who have playlisted the track in Manchester, Scotland and London; a rare feat for an unsigned band, causing XFM DJ Clint Boon (of Inspiral Carpets fame) to announce "This band are going to make a huge impact on the world of music. They are going to be massive." Frustrated with everyday life, the Leeds-based band formed in 2004. Industry recognition and public acclaim swiftly followed as Vib Gyor went on to perform at Glastonbury and Manchesters In The City music convention later that year. Vib Gyor have played with some of the best bands in the country and have built a loyal international fan base. Last summer they played at the launch night of XFM Manchester with Goldfrapp at the Manchester Ritz to a sell-out crowd. They also headlined the Leeds festival on the Sunday night (Topman stage.) Combining the intensity of current bands such as Editors with the subtle soundscapes of Sigur Ros, they have become purveyors of the finest atmospheric, explosive rock. With shimmering guitars, pounding drums and aching, sweeping vocals, Vib Gyor offer the Radiohead generation an essential addition to its CD collection VIB GYOR are; Dave Fendick (vocals, acoustic guitar), Zane Keenan (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals), James Heggie (bass guitar), Jonny Mulroy (guitar and effects) and Jonny Hooker (drums, backing vocals) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License and may also be available under the GNU FDL.
